This Italian pen company dates back to 1919. The factory was originally located in the heart of Turin, and was rebuilt in 1943 in Abbbadia di Stura, just out the central city area.

Bexley 10th Anniversary Pen

Bexley

Founded in 1993 by vintage pen enthusiasts, this American pen company creates pens the reflect the designs of those found in the Gold Age of Fountain Pens.

Bold colours - the overall theme of Bexley is vintage. it is good to know that pens can be made in North America.

Mondoro

Faber-Castell

The Ambition and Mondoro are two "work horses" type of pens. They are very well made and have good performance.

A smooth writing well designed pen. The Faber-Castell pens have a great look.

Krone Sterling

Krone

I am very fortunate to have two fountain pens by Krone. After many years of seeing their pens in advetisements I now can join others who own a Krone. I am truly impressed with the pens. They have excellent workmanship and very smooth nibs.

Very well made, the Fiction is my fun and wild pen, the Sterling my classic.

Laban Mento

Laban

I a number of the Laban Mento fountain pens in my collection. A reasonably priced, large, impressive pen. I have been impressed with the performance of these pens.

Montblanc

Montblanc

Individuals from three backgrounds (stationary, banking, engineering) joined in 1906 to form this company. By 1909 the company opened agencies in Paris, London and Barcelona. Now, the name Montblanc is an iconic name to represent writing and other high quality accessories. I have various models produced by Montblanc. Some are simply too thin in design for my hands now. I find I enjoy the larger sized pens. But the 146 is a long time favorite for me.

The Montblanc 146 is a classic pen, great nib, good feel in the hand.

Montegrappa Expressione

When I picked up and wrote with the Montegrappa Extra I knew this was a pen for me. A full size pen with a killer nib. I have added other models. Great writting pens.

The Montegrappa Extra is a classic style fountain pen. The celluloid and sterling silver are the hallmark of this company.

OMAS Arte Italiana

 

OMAS

Wen you write with an OMAS pen you will be impressed with their nibs. The nib on an OMAS pen is incredibly smooth. My collection of OMAS pens is growing, each with its own unique writing experience.

A smooth writing pen, with sophisticated style, high craftmanship - yes that is an OMAS fountain pen.

Pelikan M800

 

Pelikan

Pelikan first produced fountain pens in 1929. They used a new patented piston filling system. The style and internal mechanisms of Pelikan are a benchmark of quality.

The Souverän series is known as a pen with noteworth construction, a smooth nib and flawless filling system.

I have many Pelikan M800, M1000 and one M600 and they are all excellent pens. Great workmanship. When you acquire one of these pens you will know about having a solid writing experience.

Stipula Alter Ego

Stipula

A relatively new company, being founded in 1973. In 1991 Stipula started to produce pens made under its own name. The Etruria line has a classic look and great feel.

The design of the Etururia series is the ultimate Italian pen. Every time I write with my Stipula I just can't hjelp think of Italian design and craftmanship.

Visconti Opera

Visconti

Two collectors of fountain pens, Dante Del Vecchio and Luigi Poli, set up this company in 1988. They started to produce and market celluloid fountain pens. Tthe Opera, Divina and Ragtime are now in my collection.

Visconti is one of the newer members of my pen family, having acquired a Visconti in 2007 after I had the pleasure of meeting Dante Del Vecchio and touring the Visconti factory just outside of Florence. The pens are well made and have great nibs.

Waterman Man 100 Opera

I have always been impressed with Waterman. The Man 100, Patrician, Edson and Exception make up a great group of Pens of Note.

  • Tour of Waterman Factory - - I was very fortunate to be able to arrange a visit with the General Manager of Waterman and tour their factory located just outside of Nantes, France. Just was Waterman was my first high end pen I purchases, the vist and tour of the Waterman factory was my first opportunity to see how great pens are designed and manufactured. It was a great experience.

After many years of owning a variety of fountain pens, I rank Waterman as one of the best designed and well manufactured fountain pens. To have to send a Waterman fountain pen in for repari is a rare event.
